What do UX designers do?

What don’t we do? Amirite? No... all jokes aside. UX designers are responsible for many different deliverables, tasks, and functions. 

Coming back to the 6 core disciplines of UX, UX designer wear all of these hats at some point during the UX process:

1. User research 

2. Business analysis 

3. Information architecture

4. Content strategy

5. Interaction design

6. Visual design

With that in mind, here’s a high-level list of things we do:

Talk to users/customers (you do this a bunch throughout the process)

Conduct competitive research

Define the product strategy

Create surveys

Sketch/whiteboard (an absolute s**tload)

Build prototypes

Test with users

Content strategy/copywriting

Visual design

Present concepts, designs, and usability reports 

Create documentation for the team
