Graphic, visual, UI, and web designers are incredibly well-positioned to become top-performing UX designers. Yet, UX isn’t for everyone. To find out if it’s right for you, try our free 7-day UX design course and see what you think!
UX/UI Expert is specifically designed for graphic, visual, and UI designers.
You’ll come out of this program with best-in-class UX case studies that you can wholly call your own. You’ll work on the projects that genuinely interest you and not pre-canned projects.
You’ll also have a portfolio that stands out from the crowd. So many portfolios out there look the same. In that sea of sameness, you’ll be able to attract the attention of hiring managers and recruiters successfully.
Finally, you’ll have all the artifacts necessary to start applying right away: resume, cover letter, socials, and the strategies to get seen by employers.
Yes.
First, you must be a graphic/visual/UI designer.
Second, you need consistent access to a computer.
Third, if you don’t already have one, you need a Google/Zoom accounts to participate in meetings and get access to course materials like Workbooks. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate students in countries that don’t allow Google/Zoom accounts.
Fourth, fluency in English.
Total of 34 weeks (7.8ish months)
1 week of pre-work
28 weeks of work
5 weeks of break
Absolutely! Many companies are willing to invest in your continued education.
And, if you need extra help convincing them to pay, you get to choose the projects you work on during our program. That means you could work on a company project starting day one.
To secure your seat there is a non-refundable down payment of $1,099.
After applications close: Yes, you can get a refund. After enrolling in one of our courses, you'll get a "One-year guarantee." Put simply, if you enroll, watch all of the videos, attend the weekly calls, do all of the work, and don’t feel you've improved as a UX designer within 365 days, we’ll provide you a full refund and give you an extra $200 out of our own pockets. See our guarantee details
On average, across the entire program, expect to dedicate 8 to 12 hours per week for videos and assignments.
For intense weeks, expect to spend at least 12 to 20 hours.
On lighter weeks, expect to spend anywhere between 1 to 4 hours.
To ensure that no one gets left behind, we’ve purposefully made some weeks lighter than others. Sometimes you won’t have assignments, and your only task will be to watch and internalize content.
Also, every 4 to 5 weeks, and for everyone’s mental health’s sake, we included break weeks. Relax and watch movies. If you’re falling behind and need to catch up on assignments, go for it.
You’ll get access to your mentors every single week during our Monday meetings. We’ll address any concerns you may have, answer your questions, and help you to go through the program successfully. We'll also be available to answer questions through our chat.
You'll also have a 30-minute, bi-weekly 1-on-1 session with your mentor.
UX/UI Expert is 100% online. We welcome everyone, wherever you are in the world.
Yet, there are two exceptions.
First, you’ll need to have Google/Zoom accounts to participate in meetings and get access to course materials like Workbooks. If you live in a country where you can't access Google/Zoom accounts, unfortunately, you won’t be able to join our program.
Second, the program and meetings are taught/facilitated in American English. With that in mind, you must be fluent in English to get the most out of this program.
If you get into the program, we’ll let you select your time preferences for Monday and Friday meetings so that it’s easy on you and your peers’ schedules.
While we encourage you to attend as many of them as possible, we understand that you won’t be able to participate from time to time. We recommend that you follow at least 19 of the 24 meetings.
Monday meetings are with your entire cohort. You’ll be able to select between a morning or afternoon class (9am-11am or 4pm-6pm Pacific Standard Time). Monday meetings are with the entire cohort and are recorded. If you can’t make it, you can still watch it later.
Friday meetings are peer-to-peer only and are in small groups of 4. You’ll be able to select the time that suits you best on Fridays, and we will match you with people who have similar time preferences as you. These smaller meetings aren’t recorded; think of them as breakout rooms.
We’ve designed UX/UI Expert to be the best of both worlds. It’s the speed of a bootcamp with the depth of a university program.
Bootcamps tend to glance over subjects that are critical to becoming a true UX designer. For example, while most of them teach you UI theory, it’s so basic that it’s not actionable enough.
On the other hand, university programs can be theory-heavy and less focused on applying design in the real-world. It’s common for these programs to teach you concepts that you put into practice many months later… once you’ve forgotten most of it.
With UX/UI Expert, we’re taking a completely different approach.
We’re not a mega-corporation and proud of it. As our student, you are treated as a real person, not just a number.
We keep class sizes small (up to 16 people per class).
We personally provide mentorship every week of the program. And we genuinely care; we’re not just saying that for marketing purposes.
We strongly believe in giving/receiving feedback, in exposing yourself to new ideas. That’s why we allow you to go through peer-to-peer feedback sessions every week.
You work on case study subjects that you care about instead of giving you pre-canned case studies.
We teach you in-depth concepts using a learn-by-doing teaching style. Rapidly applying what you just learned is one of the best ways to understand and internalize concepts.
Lastly, we give you lifetime access to all the program materials so that you can keep watching videos and practice. At a bootcamp or university, once the program is done, it’s done. If you’re lucky, you’ll have the slides of the lessons you took. Yay.
Yes! At the end of the program, we’ll send a certificate of completion as proof that you went through UX/UI Expert. Print it, marvel at it, show it off to your friends or not. Up to you!
We're happy to offer a 7-day extension only if you’ve reached out to us before applications close. If you’re waiting on your company’s budget or something similar, reach out to us, and we’ll work with you.
Put simply, no. In our opinions, job guarantees are… SHADY. Instead, we decided to offer a rock-solid one-year guarantee. We obsess over our program quality, and we tested everything with students to make sure that our content works.
We’re confident that you’ll achieve the results you’re looking for if you do the work. If you’ve taken part in the weekly meetings, done the work, and didn’t get results, we’ll refund you. No problemo.
On the other hand, large corporations often choose to offer job guarantees to reduce the mental barriers of potential buyers (and increase their revenue).
The problem... Have you ever looked at the stipulations on their job guarantees? The lists are a mile long. If you miss one of the stipulations, you’re no longer eligible for the guarantee.
That type of legal mumbo-jumbo is not our style. Goodbye job guarantees, hello money-back guarantees.
